	« ANGYVIR PADILLA creates mixed-media installations that deal with the notions of home and memory. The works on view in ALL OUR YESTERDAYS are rooted in an archive of photographs taken inside the artist’s childhood home, documenting the overwhelming piles of clothing her mother sells from their Caracas apartment.

	Inspired by the legend of the mountains of her childhood, AngyvirPadilla made various trips to northern France in search of an "analogous" mountain. In the Bassin minier, she discovered the terrils, these strange cones made of the residues of coal extraction that draw singular reliefs on the horizon. In the exhibition space, Angyvir Padilla has reconstructed a fantastic landscape that the visitor is invited to cross.

	Raw clay pots are sitting in salt that soaks up the moisture of the room. A popular Venezuelan song dedicated to the moon, sung by the artist, is played on loop. The image of the moon appears in a cup filled with water and vibrates at the rhythm of the melancholic tune. 
«This work attempts to catch the unattainable essence of the moon by enclosing it in a daily life object as if we could drink the moon to finally understand it. This project is a portrayal of the magical and ordinary facts of nature and life. It invites you to immerse yourself in a romantic and melancholic atmosphere.

Angyvir Padilla (Caracas, 1987) lives and 
works in Brussels. In her practice, she invites 
us to take a closer look at the places we inhabit. By examining how we embody memory, she proposes that, in the journey between 
immanence and transcendence, the traces 
of our past seep into a persistent present. 
The environments Angyvir creates alter our 
perception of reality. As our presence enters 
into the dialogue, the sense of otherness we 
encounter reveals the essence of her work.

Angyvir explores a territory that she discovers with her body, thus making it her own. 
She moves tentatively towards its heart, a 
space that is intangible and uninhabited, 
defining it with her hands and with the only 
material she can interact with: blocks of clay. 
This place that seemed saturated with absence comes to life in the dialogue between 
the material and her body, allowing those 
objects that represent an idea of home to 
flourish. There are infinite possibilities to the 
substance of the clay when in contact with 
the body’s heat. Angyvir’s footsteps and her 
handling of the material reveals the impermanence of its form and allows the objects 
to take on their own life. They evolve in their 
form and function until finally, exhausted, 
they return to their origin, which is Angyvir, 
her body, her essence.
Here hopscotch is called the ‘little airplane’. 
In Caracas, as far as I can remember, the 
mystical or vertical variant of the game, 
which has the sky as its goal, is never played. 
Those of us who experienced Julio Cortázar’s 
Hopscotch, adopted the word to designate 
the game as well as the poetic and cosmogonic vision that pursues an ever-elusive sky. 
The Tandil stone, nowadays replaced by a 
replica, originally stood in a precarious balancing act until 1912 in the Argentinean town 
of the same name. This 300-ton rock became 
a natural installation thanks to a “divine intervention”, descending in two moves, from the 
collapse that created it to the crash that finally destroyed it. It bridged the gap between 
heaven and earth, allowing the human and 
the divine to recognise each other through 
their instinct of play. With her performance, 
Angyvir conceives an unusual atmosphere 
in which floorbound elements are lifted 
from the ground. She delves into each of the 
‘planes’, jumping from one side to the other, 
getting lost in her psyche, letting herself be 
carried away by the inevitable displacement 
provoked by the game and engaging with her 
own estrangement. In this way, there is a rupture with the linearity of the journey; she goes

	A room is filled with a white noise sound coming from a small TV that shows a black screen with no other image than a written dialogue between two characters, as if they were subtitles for an absent scenario. It’s about an epistolary correspondence referring to unusual places. 
The floor is covered with wax tiles, beneath them there is a layer of white sand. What seems like a solid ground, breaks gradually under the viewer’s weight.The texts in the video displays a correspondence between Pedro Marrero and Angyvir Padilla written during the residency ‘Una Casa no es Una Casa’ at La Macolla Creativa. Caracas, Venezuela.

A group of ceramics appears like falling bodies, collapsing columns, fighting against gravity. They are sitting on a charcoal surface as if it was an architectural ruin or an abandoned landscape. Surrounded by speakers, a popular Venezuelan song, interpreted by the artist, is being sung to them. The lyrics tells us about a cherished forgotten landscape.

A trampoline made out of a blue elastic fabric, reminding the color of the sky, is being pulled to the floor by the weight of stones and a hardened plaster mass. A screen showing the slow agency of stones and plaster hardening into a swallowing “blue-hole” while we hear about astral bodies, physics, poems, through the expression of gravity and time.
